Global PV New Installed Capacity Demand Forecast for 2022 Global
New PV installations are expected to reach 200-220GW in 2022. In 2021, affected by the overseas epidemic situation, the installation demand did not realize full release due to the high prices in the photovoltaic industry chain. Against the backdrop of burgeoning renewable energy, with the release of silicon material production capacity and the decline in prices at various levels of the industry chain, it is estimated that PV installations will grow by around 30% year-on-year in 2022, reaching 200-220GW.
Among the top five countries in terms of installation demand, China, the United States, India, Brazil, and Australia account for around 60% of global demand.
In 2022, there will be differentiated demand for installations in various locations worldwide. There will be 28 GW-level markets, including 7 new GW-level markets, and the GW-level installation volume of 28 markets will account for 92.3% of the global installation volume.
