Last week, we closed another successful chapter at InterSolar Europe in Munich, followed by a series of dedicated customer visits spanning Bavaria, North Rhine‑Westphalia, and Schleswig‑Holstein. For us at FarSun, this annual trip is the most direct way to understand how our solar mounting solutions perform in the field and what our partners truly need for their evolving projects.

At the Fair: Three Mounting‑Focused Megatrends

Our booth attracted a steady stream of project developers, EPC contractors, and asset owners. While each conversation was unique, three hardware‑centric themes surfaced consistently:

1. Cost‑Effectiveness Without Compromising Durability – With tight project margins, clients are pushing for lighter yet stronger materials, smarter logistics (containerized shipments), and pre‑assembled components that reduce on‑site labor. Our new aluminum‑steel hybrid rail system drew particular interest for its balance of strength and weight.

2. Adaptability for Complex Terrain and Dual‑Use Projects – Many visitors asked about solutions for sloping ground, soft soil, and agrivoltaic applications. They need adjustable pile heights, flexible foundation options (screw piles vs. driven piles), and modules that can accommodate varying panel sizes – all without custom engineering from scratch for every site. For fixed‑tilt ground mounts, they valued ease of angle adjustment during installation.

3. Digital Design and Certification Support – EPCs are demanding more than just hardware. They want 3D models, structural calculation reports (compliant with Eurocode and local wind/snow maps), and fast turn‑around on stamped drawings. We showcased our online configuration tool, which generated over 5 project‑specific layouts during the fair – a clear sign of market need.

On the Road: Client Visits That Grounded Us in Reality

Beyond the exhibition, we travelled from Bavaria, through North Rhine‑Westphalia, to Schleswig‑Holstein to sit down with five long‑standing partners. These on‑site workshops were invaluable:

• Supply chain feedback: Clients emphasised the importance of reliable delivery schedules, especially for large‑scale ground‑mount projects with tight construction windows. They appreciated our recent investment in additional warehousing in Hamburg, but urged us to expand buffer stocks for popular rail profiles.

• Certification and testing: Several projects required specific wind load certifications (up to 42 m/s) and corrosion protection classes (C5 for coastal regions near Süderlügum). We reviewed our CE marking and EN 1090 certificates (under Regulation (EU) No 305/2011) with them, confirming that our factory production control and structural conformity fully meet European requirements.

• Service and technical support: A recurring request was for on‑site supervision during the first few days of installation. We agreed to pilot a "commissioning assist" package for our key German clients starting Q3 2026.

What We Bring Home

This combined fair‑plus‑visit experience crystallised our priorities for the next year:

• Launch a simplified fixed‑tilt solution with pre‑cut rails and pre‑drilled holes for residential and small commercial rooftops – we are still finalising the product name and will announce it soon.

• Develop a more robust ground-mounting for soft soil conditions, based on field feedback from our northern German projects.

• Produce region‑specific installation manuals and wind/snow load maps for all German federal states.
