Greece has the highest share of photovoltaic (PV) power generation in Europe, thanks to its unique light resources. In recent years, the Greek government has actively promoted photovoltaic technology as a key force in accelerating the development of new energy power systems. According to the Greek Photovoltaic Enterprises Association (Helapco) released in February this year, the analysis of data shows that in 2023, Greece's new photovoltaic installed capacity of up to 1.59 gigawatts, a record high, accounting for 74 per cent of the year's new energy. At present, Greece's national installed capacity of photovoltaic reached 7.1 GW, to meet the country's 18.4 per cent of electricity demand.
